Contents Second Draft

This is the second draft of my contents page, I've added the numbering to the pictures in order to make the layout clearer and easier to navigate for the reader, as I feel that a contents page should be as easy to use as possible. I changed to bottom section to be a special section for reviews and moved the website link to below the main list, as I wanted to be able to list the artists in the reviews.

Contents First Draft

This is the first draft of my contents page, I've made sure to use the same three colours as the cover to maintain the house style. I tried to find images which will correspond with the articles and features in the list and I plan to add the page numbers of those articles in small boxes in the corner of each picture. I've also used the same font as most of the cover, which I'm using as the 'go-to font' for the entire magazine.

 These are the photos I have decided to use for my contents page. I wanted a group of photos which illustrated my articles, but were also different to the photos I used on the cover.

This is the fifth draft of my cover, I've changed the feature on the left hand side so that it doesn't take up as much space, as I felt it took attention away from the main feature. Whilst I many return to my cover to make final changes at a later date, I plan to move on to my contents page for the moment.

Cover fourth draft

This is the fourth draft of my cover, I've finished most of the features, however, I still feel the feature on the left hand side will require some more refinement in order to match the rest of the colour. I've tried to make sure my cover isn't too cluttered, but also conveys enough information to a prospective reader.

This is the third draft of my cover. I've changed the roundel to some more information on one of the other features in my magazine, as I feel this will be more useful to the audience. I made sure the box I added fit with the house style of the magazine, but still stood out. I will try to edit the image more to make it look more professional.

Cover second draft

This is the second draft of my cover, I've made some changes to the layout first of all adding banners featuring prominent artists names in order to attract attention to the cover, as customers may see an artist they like and buy the magazine to read about them. I've also added a roundel to the left hand side which will help serve the same purpose as the banners, however I may change it as it doesn't really fit with the darker colours of the rest of the cover.

Cover first draft

This is the first draft of my magazine. I tried to establish a house style, consisting of the colours red, white and black, which I will aim to maintain throughout the magazine as this will help distinguish it from other music magazines. I used the website http://www.1001fonts.com/ to find the custom fonts for my tagline and for the quote I used for my article, as I thought these fonts were of better quality than the ones available in Photoshop and made my cover look more professional. The next step will be to finish putting in the barcode and find something to put on the left hand side of the cover.

Naomi Wolf's The Beauty Myth explores the way magazines represent women and the fact that pictures of attractive women are used to attract both men and women, who believe that they have to aspire to the level of beauty shown.
